A romantic day in Paris
Paris is definitely one of the most romantic places on earth and couples will find a lot to do there. I think that you must have at least 4 full days to enjoy the many wonderful places Paris has to offer for your romantic vacation.
The options for a one romantic day are endless. Here is my idea for a romantic day in Paris:
MorningFirst thing you need to do is to wake up. Not an easy task for some. It's going to be a long and fun day so i recommend to get a good night sleep and to wake up early. Set an alarm clock if you must. 8:00-8:30 is the perfect time to begin your day.
Most of the Parisian hotels, even the small ones, usually offer a breakfast. As you may know, breakfasts in Paris, and in other places in Europe, tend to be simple and modest. If you ask me, i prefer a nice just-baked croissant and some orange juice over a hughe buffet. It makes your body lighter and it will be easier for you to start your day. If your hotel package does not include breakfast, just go to the nearest coffe shop and order croissant with butter or jam. Mmm, or both!

Stop eating, start your day!
The first place we are going to is the Notre Dame cathedral. The cathedral, known mostly thank to "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" by the French author Victor hugo, is a wonderful place to start your day. It will take a while to get in because of the long queue but it's totally worth it. The interior design is impressive and the view from the top is amazing.
Notre Dame is located on an island called Île de la Cité. While there you could also take a look at the oldest bridge in Paris, the Pont Neuf , and visit other sights such as Conciergerie or Sainte-Chapelle . If it is a Sunday, you could visit the coloful bird's and flower's market of Marche aux Fleurs et aux Oiseaux. There will be flowers there, you'll know what to do :)
The next place we are going to is the Latin Quarter. In the Latin Quarter you can wonder around the narrow streets, the small shops, the old buildings and the restaurants. Don't forget to grab an authentic French Crepe.
It is now lunch time and there are many nice restaurants to eat at the Latin Quarter. However, what is more romantic than a picnic? Find youself a nice little supermarket, buy a baguette, some cheese, a bottle of wine and head for Luxemburg Gardens . Take your time and enjoy the gardens, maybe even take a little nap on the grass.
After the pinic
This is the time to get to the Metro station (Luxemburg). Take the subway to Anvers station and you are at Montmartre. Montmartre is one of the most romantic places in the world, if you ask me (and I guess you do, why else would you reach this far right?). The great Basilica of Sacre-Couer is located at the top of the hill and from there you could see the great view of Paris. The steps at the foot of the Basilica is a great place to hangout with a bottle of beer while the amazing view is in front of you.
After visiting the Basiliica, go Place du Tertre , a magical square with many restaurants and street painters. Take your time and ask for a local artist to draw your portrait. It will be a great souvenir. Drink a nice cup of coffee and head up for your next destination.

The Eiffel Tower
You didn't think i forgot the Eiffel Tower , did you?
This is THE place for some romance. Take your photo together with the background of tower and go up the top floor to see the spectacular views. The queue for the elevator is LONG and the place will be crowded, but still, this is the Eiffel Tower. For some amazing views of the tower you can go to Trocadero gardens near by. The tower keeps me exicted everytime i visit it so i'm sure you will not forget your first visit to the Eiffel together.
Tip #1: Try to be there just before the sun sets. that way you will enjoy the scenery of daytime and of nightime.
Tip #2: Hear me out here, take the steps up the top of the tower. Yeah, you heard me. It will save you the waiting time and it is really not that difficult!
To end this romantic day I recommend to take a cruise on the Siene river. The guided cruise will show you a lot of the highlights Paris has the offer, while some companies combine the cruise with dinner on deck. I personally did not take the dinner package but it sure looked very romantic.
If eating on the water is not your things, there are thousands of romantic restaurants all over Paris where you could enjoy your dinner.

Back to your hotel roomAfter this romantic day you will arrive back at your hotel (unless you're too drunk from all the wine and beer you had today).
The most romantic thing to do before going to sleep is to sit together and enjoy the view from your window or balcony. For hotels with a great view of the Eiffel Tower click here.
So this was my idea for a romantic day in Paris. As I said, there are other millions possibilities to enjoy a great romantic day in the city of lights. No matter what you'll choose, i'm sure you will have a great day :)
